All fields have professional organizations that help to bring together all people in the field. The organizations below have annual conferences at which one can see scholars present their research, take advantage of job posting services, learn about publications of the latest scholarly research, and much more. If you plan to pursue a professional career in archaeology, art history, or classics, it is a good idea to join one of these organizations and take advantage of the services and publications they have to offer.

Archaeological Institute of America: The organization for classical archaeologists and art historians.

American School of Oriental Research: The organization for Near Eastern and Egyptian archaeology and art history.

Society for American Archaeology: The organization for those interested in New World archaeology and CRM archaeology.

College Art Association: The professional organization for art historians.

American Philological Association: The professional organization for classicists.

American Classical League: The professional organization for teachers of classicial languages
