Q: What if all graduate schools reject me or I am only accepted by my last choice?

- Don't Panic
- Figure out what went wrong. If you have no idea, talk to your academic advisor. If the two of you cannot figure it out, call one or two of the schools you applied to and ask them.
- If your GPA was the problem, take some more undergraduate courses to bring it up before applying again.
- If your GRE scores shot you down, take it again.
- If you are accepted by your last pick, go anyway. You can get a masters degree and after that you can apply to a PhD program somewhere else.
- Work in the field for a year or two before choosing to apply again. This reflects favorably on you and can increase your chances of getting into graduate school later on.
