Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, 1075-1211, Romanesque pilgrim church, Spain

This ornate church, which reputedly houses the remains of St. James, became a focal point for Christianity in Western Europe. Many roads, referred to a the Way of St. James, were established because of the many religious pilgrims that were drawn to this location.
