Johann Michael Fischer, The Rococo Basilica at Ottobeuren Abbey, 1748-55

Although the exterior of this basilica is done in the Baroque Style, the interior is a testament  to the overwhelming Rococo. The heavy integration of ornament creates soft transitions from the architecture to illusionary painted images. Rococo borrows its name from a decorative pattern used in France during the 18th century.
