The Northern Sung Dynasty is generally referred to as the “Golden Age of Chinese Painting.” In this image we see the painted work of Emperor Sung Huizong who was a member of the Hanlin Calligraphy and Painting Academy. The Emperor was an accomplished painter who also taught painting.
