Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque), 1616 CE, Istanbul, Turkey

This building is nicknamed the Blue Mosque for the distinctive blue tiles that adorn the interior space. Muslims are called to prayer five times each day and the tall towers that surround this building, called minarets, are used by the muezzin to call faithful Muslims to prayers.
