Day 20 Week 04

Edvard Munch, The Vampire, 1893-94

Expressionism is a term that describes a style more than a movement. In fact, there has never been a movement that has identified itself as “Expressionism” but many artists since the Protestant Reformation through present day have been identified with the style. Munch’s work is heavily oriented toward tapping into a viewer’s angst by using uncomfortable coloration and fuzzy distorted imagery.
