It is my privilege to present you with our 2002-2003 concert brochure. Both the Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Winds have exciting programs, and I am confident the variety will entertain you. The Symphonic Winds will perform a concert of classics and their annual Outdoor Pops concert. The Wind Ensemble will present their seasonal classics concerts as well as travel to Hawaii to compete in the International Music Festival.

The Wind Ensemble is composed of the finest undergraduate wind and percussion students in the Department of Music, exemplifying the inherent musical talent available at the University. The 45-member ensemble performs a varied repertoire, from the finest original wind works to select transcriptions.

Symphonic Winds is made up of music majors, nonmusic majors and community members. Their repertoire is primarily made up of, but not limited to, traditional symphonic band literature.

I am excited to begin this concert season and I hope you make plans to join us.
