Stephanie Frasier earned her Bachelor of Science in Art with an emphasis in Graphic Design from the University of Evansville in 1990. While a student at UE she interned at an agency that offered her a full-time position. Upon graduation, she worked her way through several advertising agencies up to the level of Senior Art Director and had won numerous awards including a prestigious Addy Certificate of Excellence before returning to UE in 2001 to teach. Ms. Frasier brings with her to the classroom, over 15 years of professional working experience from the field and freelance.

“When I work as a professional designer, I embrace the responsibility of communicating a message to an intended audience by utilizing design principles, graphic design applications, traditional media and research. I am involved in every aspect of the design process from initial concept, design, computer production, illustration, photography direction, image retouching and manipulation, through the final printing press proofing of the finished piece.”

It is from this experience that Ms. Frasier draws upon to teach her students to solve visual communication challenges.

“I think it is important for the students to understand what it takes to be a graphic designer, by drawing from my professional work experience, graphic design knowledge and by getting them into real-life work environments through tours, job shadowing and internships, I can help them acquire the skills needed to reach their highest potential.”

To stay in touch with this face-paced field, Ms. Frasier remains very active professionally through her freelance design business and is currently pursuing a Master of Fine Arts in Graphic Design at Indiana State University.

 

As an artist, Ms. Frasier uses the computer to exercise her creativity by producing artwork to exhibit in various shows.

“I have a passion for design—all things graphically designed; logos, packaging, brochures, websites—a passion for paper and the role it plays with design, and an intense love for my family. My artistic work reflects these passions through subject matter, materials and techniques and allows me an outlet for my creativity.”
