Although Therapsids resemble pelycosaurs in some ways, they had a much larger hole in the outer skull armor, flange on lower jaw for muscle attachment, and shorter heads.Ý All these differences from pelycosaurs are related to more elaborate chewing.Ý In addition, some had a more upright posture.
