William F. Brown

William F. Brown has been a Professor of Art at the University of Evansville since 1980 and Chairman of the Department of Art since 1999. Before he and his family moved to Evansville, he had taught at universities in Illinois, Arkansas and West Virginia. Prior to teaching he was a commercial artist and illustrator in Chicago. His illustrations and designs appeared in newspapers and magazines throughout the country.

Mr. Brown received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Indiana State University in Terre Haute Indiana and his Masters of Fine Art from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. His major studios were painting and drawing with a secondary area of photography. He has an extensive record as a painter, draftsman and photographer, locally, regionally and nationally.

Mr. Brown’s work is included in numerous private and corporate collections, including: The French Confection and SAFECO Insurance in Indianapolis, Yale/South Haven of Illinois, Sheldon Swope Gallery of Terre Haute, National City Bank in New Albany, CBIS of Cincinnati, Toyota in Princeton, Bristol Myers Squibb, Deaconess Hospital, Integra Bank, Fifth Third Bank, American General, Welborn Hospital, Columbia Medical Center, Methodist Temple, Eastminster Presbyterian Church, St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Fine & Hatfield, Artisan Sheet Metal, SAGE Health Services, Edmund Hafer & Associates and Solarbron Pointea and Southwest Arts Council, all of Evansville.
