This document shows several circuits created using the OpenOffice.org electronics symbol template that I created. You can obtain the template from here. The original Writer version of this document is here, the HTML version is here, and the PDF version here. (It is usually easiest to download documents from the HTML version – right click on a link and select “Save as ..” from the pop-up menu.)
Tips for using.
From menu select Tools -> Options, under Drawing -> Grid set “Snap to Grid” and “Visible Grid”. Set drawing grid to inches with 0.10” resolution and 1 subdivision.
Set line width to 0.02” when drawing lines.
To insert a circuit into Writer, here's what I do. Choose Insert->Object->OLE Object from menu bar. Click “Create from file” and then browse to the Electronics Symbol template. Create your circuit. When you get done with the embedded object and are in Writer mode, select the object by clicking on it once. Right-click and select “Object” from the menu. Click the “Original size” button. I usually prefer to anchor objects as characters.
